NEW YORK — The MLS All-Star team is now complete. On Monday, the final six inactive MLS All-Stars, as decided by the player ballot, were announced and added to the full roster.
The six players are:
- Osvaldo Alonso (SEA)
- Dwayne De Rosario (DC)
- Eric Hassli (VAN)
- Juninho (LA)
- Joel Lindpere (NY)
- Nick Rimando (RSL)
Alonso, the Sounders holding midfielder, has been rock-solid in helping Sigi Schmid's charges climb up the Western Conference standings on the back of a nine-game unbeaten run.
Acquired just a few weeks ago in a trade with New York, United attacking midfielder De Rosario has given Ben Olsen's side an offensive boost, including providing the lone goal in a recent win over his former club just up I-95.
Hassli, the Vancouver Whitecaps striker, has notched eight goals in his first season in MLS, good for a tie for fourth place in the race for the Golden Boot.
Juninho has asserted himself in the Galaxy midfielder in his second season at the Home Depot Center. He has scored three goals and helped the Galaxy to the top of the West.
Estonian midfielder Joel Lindpere as been the Red Bulls' most consistent performer, starting all 23 league matches this season and picking up five goals and a team-high five assists.
RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando is second in the league in goals against average with .71, posting an 8-3-6 record for fourth-place Real.
