2013 All-Star Game

VIDEO: MLS All-Stars and Sporting KC players kick soccer balls over a creek, into a goal | THE SIDELINE

Sporting Kansas City and the Houston Dynamo may have met one another the last two years in the Eastern Conference playoffs — both results going the way of the Dynamo — and Monday was a chance for a little retribution for blue half of that ongoing feud.

Sort of.

Ahead of the 2013 MLS All-Star Game in Kansas City (Wednesday, 9 p.m. ET, ESPN2/UniMas/TSN), a pair of Dynamo All-Stars — Brad Davis and Corey Ashe — joined Sporting Kansas City players Oriol Rosell, Dom Dwyer, Soony Saad and Seth Sinovic, along with Sporting All-Star Matt Besler and local media personalities, as part of a charity event to benefit Kansas City Parks and Recreation which involved kicking soccer balls from one side of Kansas City's Brush Creek, over the water, and into a goal placed on the opposite side.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber, also on hand for the event, was even goaded into trying his own luck across the 25-yard wide creek. So you'll know, the Commissioner got closer than most of the Kansas City media folks and Sporting Kansas City play by play commentator Callum Williams.

Three contestants — Rosell, Dwyer and Saad — managed to cross the water and hit the net on the other side. Of the three, only Saad cleared the water and landed the ball in goal on the fly.
